Children's Day and We Mean It!

Today is International Children's Day, which is celebrated in many countries around the world for the health and happiness of children. The festival's origin can be traced back to 1925, when representatives from many different countries gathered in Geneva, Switzerland, for an international conference on the welfare of children. After the meeting, these governments set up a special day as Children's Day in order to draw people's attention to children's issues, but the dates vary from country to country, depending on their own culture. For many countries in the communist camp or countries with this background, this day was chosen on June 1st.

The purpose of establishing Children's Day is to let all children in the world have the right to be loved, cared for, understood, and to have adequate food, medical care, free education, protection against any form of exploitation, as well to grow in an environment with peace and brotherhood.

Many primary schools and kindergartens hold various one-day celebrations, such as garden parties, fun sports games, etc., and invite parents‍ to participate.
